What a day! After a bus ride from Leon to Samos, we stepped out at a beautiful monastery. In our awe, and under the weight of our packs, one of my fellow pilgrims lost her footing and fell! After a 3.5 hour hike through beautiful countryside, with the cows, ducks, goats, horse, sheep and glorious wildflowers, her ankle is unfortunately very swollen. Luckily, frozen peas are sold in Spain, and those combined with vino have been a comfort! We are all exhausted but happy, and relieved to have one day under our packs. Wonderful memories, too numerous to list, have already been made. Thanks to all of you who are thinking of us as we journey on.
